CA 133 is becoming an industry standard for high risk public spaces, such as hotels,
hospitals, nursing facilities, etc... It has become law in several states and
cities across the country with the intent to prevent fire associated fatalities in
these venues. The standard requires that a fully upholstered seating unit, not just
its components, pass a full scale open flame burn test and is by far the most
difficult and comprehensive flammability test.
